Braces and Aligners

What are Braces & Aligners?

Braces and aligners are orthodontic treatments used to straighten misaligned teeth, correct bite issues, and improve overall oral health and appearance. They work by applying gentle pressure over time to move teeth into the desired position.

Types of Braces
  1. Metal Braces (Traditional Braces)
    • Made of stainless steel brackets and wires.
    • Effective for severe misalignments.
    • Affordable and durable, though highly visible.
  2. Ceramic Braces
    • Use tooth-colored or clear brackets for a more aesthetic appearance.
    • Less noticeable but more expensive and prone to staining.
  3. Lingual Braces
    • Placed behind the teeth, making them invisible from the front.
    • Custom-made but can be uncomfortable and more costly.
  4. Self-Ligating Braces
    • Use a sliding mechanism instead of elastic ties to hold the wire.
    • Reduces friction and requires fewer adjustments.
What are Aligners?

Clear aligners, like Invisalign, are a modern alternative to traditional braces. They consist of custom-made, removable, and transparent trays that gradually shift teeth into place.
